A profitable walk in the valley

On my doorstep, the great outdoors.

The great thing about Cotwall End Valley is that I live there.

I don’t need to get in the car to visit, I’m there already.

As someone who loves the great outdoors, it’s perfect as far as I’m concerned.

My dog loves it as well, and although it’s very muddy at the moment, walking through the puddles in the lane on the way back helped clean his feet.

On this short walk I saw a raven, little egret, nuthatch, pair of mistle thrushes and a flock of c. 30 goldfinches.

Lots of birds, I thrive on being in the natural world and Dilwyn had a walk off his lead.

A profitable time indeed.

  1. Hi Stewart, I work in Aldridge and have seen and heard Ring neck parakeets regularly over the last few weeks, Also saw a flock of about 10 flying over near Walsall Arboretum (heard them first) very vocal birds. Seems they are becoming quite common now. Merry Christmas to you and yours Stewart.. Jim.

    1. Hello, Jim.
They’re definitely becoming more abundant in the wider area.
I know the Express & Star did a feature recently with lots of reports in there.
Merry Christmas to you and your family. Have a great time.

    1. Nice hotel there Stewart, even though it resembles a maze inside, don’t know if I’d find my way out of there he he. And right by the marina too, lovely view, shame you can’t fish there, enjoy 😁 x

      1. Hello, Debby!
It’s great, it’s one of those places where I think to myself, I’d love to bring my wife here.
I slept with the curtains open, what a lovely sight to wake up to.

      2. P.S. I found the flotels on my walk. Perfect fishing from the deck.
        Get your bags packed.

          1. Or a non-fishing wife’s nightmare!
See you later tonight, I’m ten minutes away from Haverfordwest then it’s all focused for a few hours!
