A narrow win for The New Saints in Little England Beyond Wales

Footage from match day.

The final game for The New Saints before Christmas was on the road against Haverfordwest County.

The JD Cymru Premier MD18 fixture was rearranged after being postponed due to adverse weather conditions at the start of the month.

Earlier in the week, I wrote the match preview and did the press conference interview with Craig Harrison.

The game was close but The New Saints edged it 1-0, courtesy of a late goal from Ash Baker.

The win extends the lead at the top of the table to nine points, plus a game in hand.

Following the final whistle, there were interviews with Ash and Chris Seargeant.

Tom Jones signed the team sheet for my collection, his first autograph since signing a professional contract, which was announced earlier in the day.

Little England Beyond Wales?

It’s what that area of south Pembrokeshire is known, due to its English heritage and culture, not that it’s particularly noticeable at first sight.

I mention it though because some fans were chanting anti-English songs and Haverfordwest is in the area known as Little England Beyond Wales.

I wondered how many of them even know or have heard of the Landsker Line?

  1. Hi Stewart, I work in Aldridge and have seen and heard Ring neck parakeets regularly over the last few weeks, Also saw a flock of about 10 flying over near Walsall Arboretum (heard them first) very vocal birds. Seems they are becoming quite common now. Merry Christmas to you and yours Stewart.. Jim.

    1. Hello, Jim.
They’re definitely becoming more abundant in the wider area.
I know the Express & Star did a feature recently with lots of reports in there.
Merry Christmas to you and your family. Have a great time.

    1. Nice hotel there Stewart, even though it resembles a maze inside, don’t know if I’d find my way out of there he he. And right by the marina too, lovely view, shame you can’t fish there, enjoy 😁 x

      1. Hello, Debby!
It’s great, it’s one of those places where I think to myself, I’d love to bring my wife here.
I slept with the curtains open, what a lovely sight to wake up to.

      2. P.S. I found the flotels on my walk. Perfect fishing from the deck.
        Get your bags packed.

          1. Or a non-fishing wife’s nightmare!
See you later tonight, I’m ten minutes away from Haverfordwest then it’s all focused for a few hours!
