For the second night on the bounce, I was woken from my slumbers. This time it was an alarm.
I looked out the window but couldn’t see anything in the immediate area, so closed the window and went back to bed.
Straight away, the noise went from sounding like it was on my front lawn to being somewhere in the distance.

The next time I was up and about it was to make a flask of tea and load my fishing gear in the back of the car.
Chasing lake tench, no sooner had I cast out, I was connected to the first one.
I hadn’t even set up the recording equipment or poured the first cup of tea of the day.
I added more and also a bonus roach, with the species on the radar once we hit autumn and beyond.
