Shrewsbury Steam Rally traffic
Working in football, even part-time, means that you don’t get bank holidays and weekends off in the same way that you do if you have a standard 9-5 job.
Not that it’s an issue for me, far from it, as I’ve had a flexible working life from my twenties.
With today being a bank holiday, I was at Park Hall for a press conference interview with Craig Harrison, ahead of the Colwyn Bay game.
This time last year, I was caught out by the Shrewsbury Steam Rally traffic on the A5.
The problem is that once you hit traffic gridlock, there’s nowhere to go, it’s like being on a motorway between junctions.
It was so bad, I didn’t make Park Hall for training and by the time I finally cleared the delays, it was too late.
This time round though it worked out well, as the press conference was at 9.00 a.m. and so I missed the crowds on the way there.
On the way back, I went a different route, via Ellesmere, and picked up the A5 between Shrewsbury and Telford.
It worked.
Every problem in life has an answer.
