Fishing on the River Severn, followed by work at Park Hall

Killing two birds with one stone or making the most of every opportunity. Call it what you want but loading my fishing gear in the car when I go to work is just that.

Setting off from home earlier meant that I had a couple of hours or so on the River Severn.

I fished with four maggots on a size 10 hook and with a 3/8 ounce lead ample to hold bottom, it was in effect my tench approach that I’m currently employing on a lake.

I threw out balls of brown crumb and maggots by hand and fished just off the bank, as the river increased in depth.

I had an all-chub catch and, with no exaggeration, it was a bite every single cast.

You can follow the session via the video, as well as post-angling work, which included a photoshoot and a press conference interview.

A thoroughly enjoyable day, fishing and football. Not a bad life.
