🎣 📻 Fishing and radio to wrap up the interesting day
I drove to a pool while it was still light and when I got there I wasn’t surprised to see that it was flooded and the colour of hot chocolate.
It didn’t look good.
My target was big roach and I legered sweetcorn.
Being realistic, I knew it would be a challenge and although I blanked, the pluck and the savage take I had certainly inspired me.
If only to return.
Watch this space.
Tackle: Fox Barbel Special rod. Okuma Zeon reel. Maxima Chameleon 6lb line. 1/8 ounce lead. Small shot and bead to create a 6 inch hook length. Drennan Super Specialist size 8 hook.
Nature notes: Cormorant feeding when I arrived. At dusk, a kingfisher settled in overhanging branches alongside me to roost.
Once home, I did my first Bayside Radio recordings of the year with Jeff Pearson.
We talk fishing on Thursdays, followed by Welsh football a day later.
A very interesting day indeed.
