📈 👨⚖️ Targets, plans and jury service
Happy New Year! I trust that 2024 will be kind to you.
It’s the time of the year when we make resolutions, turn over a new leaf or look to make changes.
There’s nothing wrong with wanting to move on, to become better people and to seek positive change in our lives.
Targets are good but they have to be realistic. Easy ones are pointless, they won’t challenge us.
On the other hand, those that are virtually unreachable are just as irrelevant.
It’s not just targets though in the context of figures being measurable.
Sometimes we make plans.
I’ve got both and I’m looking forward to the year ahead.
Fishing is obviously a big part of my life and I was looking forward to hitting the year running on that front.
Then I got called up for jury service, changed from December 18 to January 2.
No problem, it’s only for two weeks, until I then got a notification that there are some long trials scheduled, which could be four months in duration.
Certainly at the moment, I’ll leave home when it’s dark and it’ll be dark again when I get back.
So, no fishing?
Well, I’m seeing it as a challenge rather than a brick wall.
I’ll still be out every day, so watch this space on that one.
