🎣 Fishing a small pool and I got there in the end
After last night’s game of football – my first this year – I certainly felt the effects of it when I woke this morning, which is good.
A good philosophy in life is to keep pushing yourself and I would include angling in that.
Which is why, regardless of the conditions, I’ve been fishing every day of 2025 so far.
It’s certainly been very challenging of late but, as I so often say, as long as your bait’s in the water you’ve always got a chance.
Today’s session was on a small pool and I fished six feet of water, just beyond the sharp drop-off.
Bait was two red maggots over brown crumb and maggots.
The fishing? As the heading states and the video confirms, I got there in the end.

Nature notes: Song thrush singing in a tree alongside the pool, which I captured for the video. Two others also in full song in the immediate area. Two ravens, heard but not seen. Two ring-necked parakeets. Grey wagtail.
