Episode 1: Wedding Venue
Shazia and Amjad are getting married but Mr. Khan has forgotten to book the mosque, so he tries to hijack the event.
It all goes wrong, but in the end, by taking Mrs. Bilal (who had the mosque slot that he wanted) and her friends to Alton Towers, he is able to secure the date.
Epidode 2: Naani’s Shopping Trip
Mr. Khan’s mother-in-law is visiting and it affects his plans for hobnobbing at Sparkhill Business Association.
He gets Dave, the mosque manager, to take her shopping but he loses her and they think she’s drowned in the canal.
She turns up though and, to win his annoyed wife over, he agrees that his mother-in-law can stay for good.
Episode 3: Family Holiday
Mr. Khan is desperate to get a room at the mosque named after him and so he bids his ‘rainy day’ money on a carpet auction to impress the committee.
It turns out though to be a pilgrimage to Mecca that he’s won, so he plans for all the family to go, including Shazia and Amjad on their honeymoon.
He isn’t popular but he redeems himself as Mr. Malik buys his prize out and he decides to send Shazia and Amjad to Maldives instead.
Episode 4: Amjad’s Promotion
Mr. Khan is in charge of getting a new call to prayer person at the mosque and he holds auditions.
He has an idea to promote his new business idea beyond his local mosque and so puts leaflets everywhere.
Amjad, instead of getting a promotion at the phone shop, gets fired for plugging a rival business.
Mr. Khan goes to the pub to meet Amjad’s boss but it doesn’t work out very well.
In the end, in exchange for Amjad getting his job back, Mr. Khan dresses up in promotional costume and the company is mentioned over the loudspeaker after the call to prayer chant.
Episode 5: The Cricket Match
England and Pakistan are playing each other at cricket and Mr. Khan invites his friends round to watch it on his new television.
Mrs. Khan is hosting funeral prayers at the same time in the other room.
It all, naturally, goes pear-shaped but they all end up singing ABBA’s Dancing Queen together.
Episode 6: The Khans’ Anniversary
There are spare places available at Amjad and Shazia’s wedding and, while Mrs. Khan wants to invite old friends, her husband invites a businessman who they don’t know just so he can make contacts.
He invents a story that Shazia had a previous boyfriend but it all backfires.
It’s also the Khan’s wedding anniversary and Mr. Khan buys fish and chips from the place where they had their first anniversary meal.
