🎥 A Song Is Born (1948) starring Danny Kaye, Virginia Mayo and a host of music legends
Along with other professors, Hobart Frisbee (Danny Kaye) is involved in a music project.
They end up taking in a nightclub singer, Honey Swanson (Virginia Mayo), who is hiding from the police, as they want her to testify against her gangster boyfriend.
In the end, she falls for Frisbee.
It’s a comedy and has an all-star cast of music legends – Benny Goodman, Louis Armstrong, Lionel Hampton, Tommy Dorsey and many more – from the time, most of them playing themselves.
There’s plenty of music in there, which if you like the forties, then it’s a great movie just for that alone.
It’s a great movie.
