🎣 A change of scenery on the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal
A change is as good as a rest, as they say, and although still on the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal, I was in a new spot as I fancied a change of scenery. Fishing a couple of maggots on a Drennan Super Specialist size 16, I cast out and settled back.
I soon realised though, that I was connected to a snag, the end result being a break above the float, which continued to sit there in the water as if I was still fishing. I lost a couple of leads trying to retrieve it, but eventually got it back when I set up again, with another float.
Moving a short distance along the canal, I resumed my session and built up the swim with a small amount of brown crumb and maggots. Although I did get a solitary slight dip on the float, that was all the action that I had in three hours.
It was a very pleasant day but cold and, as far as other fishermen were concerned, I saw a lure angler pass by and that was it. As far as my own fishing is concerned though, there’s always another day. There’s always tomorrow.
