🌲 A walk around Himley Hall 🎣 Tench fishing 🎣 An important announcement for Himley anglers
It was a beautiful evening, so my wife and I – plus Dilwyn, our Bedlington terrier – went for a walk around Himley Hall, which is minutes away from where we live.
Everyone says ‘Himley Hall’ when referencing the place, but technically that’s the building, with the wider area the park.
Away from the pedantry though, we feel blessed to have it within easy reach.
As per the video, I also wanted to check whether the tench were on the munch.
They give themselves away at Himley, courtesy of the feeding bubbles.
I didn’t see any but decided to return the following morning anyway.
Three hours of watching a rod tip with zero interest in the grain of corn, combined with no bubbles anywhere on the lake, confirmed that they aren’t in full swing just yet.
Other anglers on there were also fish-less as well, from what I saw.
I did see a skylark though, singing as it flew directly overhead.
As far as Himley Hall fishing is concerned, I had an email today (April 29) saying that due to carp spawning, fishing has been stopped and the situation will be renewed on May 6.
It also changed my own angling plans because, as I mentioned in the last angling-related blog post, I was going to do something different.
In fact, that was Himley Hall carp.
The fishing will continue though, just somewhere else.
As they say, watch this space.
