🎣 A small pool session to start the day 🎶 Do It Baby 📻 Angling on the radio

As you can see from the video, there were fish waiting for me when I arrived at the pool.

Unfortunately, one of them was a pike, but therefore rather surprisingly the first species caught was a small roach.

I banked more during the short session, as well as perch.

No tench put in an appearance but one bream did, on the last cast.

I fished a couple of lengths from the bank in two metres of water, with prawn over brown crumb, red maggots and prawns.

Tackle: Greys Prodigy TX 12’ rod. Shimano 3500M reel. Maxima Chameleon 4lb line. Waggler float 1g. Drennan Super Specialist size 10 hook.

Nature notes: Calling raven in low flight over field behind the swim. Stock dove in flight and calling in woodland.

Both there and back to the pool, I listened to The Miracles’ Do It Baby album, which was released in 1974.

I can remember buying the single of the same name, which was a regular on my turntable at the time.

That was more than half a century ago. How time flies.

Plus, I’m still listening to the same music all these decades later.

Talking about flying time, once home I did my weekly recording with Jeff Pearson for his afternoon show on Bayside Radio. It seems to come round so quickly.

As I so often comment, it’s always good to have a platform from which to engage with the general public.

There are many misconceptions as far as angling is concerned, and the opportunity to address them through the radio show, is very  welcome indeed.
