November 3
After a week away the feeding station was devoid of food, but almost immediately after topping it up, there were c8 blue tits, great tits and a single coal tit visiting.
They were joined, within minutes, by a chaffinch, collared doves (2), goldfinch, magpies (2), robin, stock dove and wood pigeons (2).
November 5
Two ravens in flight over the valley from north to south.
The winter influx of blackbirds begins with two males in the garden.
November 6
Sparrowhawk flew across the garden.

Two ravens in dusk flight from north to south over the valley.

Cormorant in flight north to south across the valley, visible from the lounge at home.
November 19
Carrion crow perched on neighbour’s aerial.
November 23
Raven in late dusk flight over the valley.
November 24
Male great spotted woodpecker on the feeding station.
November 25
We usually get males, so nice to see a female great spotted woodpecker on the fat balls this morning.
While I watched, I counted 14 different species of birds in the garden itself.
After watching a grey wagtail on a roof in the lane, when I got home the same bird (presumably) flew from the roof of the bungalow below us onto ours.
A new garden tick for the year and a first since we moved here.
November 29
Four blackbirds in the garden this morning, feeding on berries.
Some decent fish there Stewart on a very cold morning. And a cheeky Robin. Makes it all worthwhile.
Taking everything into account, I was quite thrilled.
Robins. The anglers’ friend. Lovely birds.
