Monday memory: First home, second car
One of the photographs in the lead image goes back to when I was eighteen years of age.
It was taken from the front window of the apartment that I had bought. Well, on a mortgage anyway.
Owning my own home was probably the only sensible thing I did at that age.
It was in Ettingshall Park Farm, a nice residential area of Wolverhampton, on the eastern slope of Sedgley Beacon.
It cost me £9,999 and the mortgage was £100 a month.
Those were the days.
The car in question was the second one I owned, a blue Morris Marina.
It followed on from an orange Marina Coupé that was my first love, which you can read about here.
Memories. Great aren’t they?
Some decent fish there Stewart on a very cold morning. And a cheeky Robin. Makes it all worthwhile.
Taking everything into account, I was quite thrilled.
Robins. The anglers’ friend. Lovely birds.
