Behind the media scenes at Aberystwyth Town with The New Saints
Post-match media, ahead of the JD Cymru Premier MD17 game between Aberystwyth Town and The New Saints, involved writing the match preview and doing the press conference interview with Craig Harrison.
A day later and I was on the team bus, as we made our way across country to the Cardiganshire coast.
It’s an extremely picturesque journey, but with it being dark as we travelled, the beautiful scenery was hidden from view.
We arrived at Park Avenue with plenty of time to spare, so after setting up match day media, I got some video footage of the players in preparation, to go with the arrival clips.
It wasn’t the start we wanted, with the Seasiders taking an early lead.
Deep into added time in the first half though, Danny Davies scored a superb equaliser.
A second-half penalty from Brad Young and an own goal from ex-TNS star, Alex Darlington, secured a 3-1 victory.
The game marked the halfway stage of the club’s league campaign, with the three points ensuring a lead of twelve points at the top of the table.
Following the final whistle, there were interviews with Craig Harrison and Danny Davies.
The final media act was to write the five talking points article and as I didn’t get home until after 2.00 a.m. I did that after getting some sleep.
Some decent fish there Stewart on a very cold morning. And a cheeky Robin. Makes it all worthwhile.
Taking everything into account, I was quite thrilled.
