An eventful pike fishing session but at least I wasn’t a blanker
Targeting pike on a pool, as you can see in the video the session was certainly eventful. Fishing a couple of rods with dead and live baits, I had plenty of action, not only from predators but also a coot that picked up a herring tail section.
However, come the end of the trip, all I had to show for my effort was a tiny jack, and even that escaped from the landing net before I could capture it on film. I did catch it though, so at least I wasn’t a blanker.
I saw a kingfisher, a song thrush and heard ring-necked parakeets. A pair of moorhens fed in the margins, accompanied by a juvenile bird and, as mentioned already, there was a coot on the pool.
Are you pike fishing this season? If so, how’s it going? Comment in the guestbook.
