Talking angling on the radio and I had some maggots that were turning, so I went fishing
The video begins with footage from my conversation with Jeff Pearson, where we chat fishing for his afternoon show on Bayside Radio. Based in Colwyn Bay, on the north Wales coast, the angling slot goes out every Thursday at 2.15 p.m.
Although I keep them in the refrigerator at home, maggots don’t last forever. Therefore, with numerous casters appearing in the tub, I went on a float-fishing session. Not that I need an excuse to get out, as I was going anyway, just that the maggot situation determined where.
I fancied a couple of hours on a pond, in pursuit of perch, so that’s what I did. As simple as that. The video covers the tackle and the swim description, as well as the fish banked. It was a cold day, but I managed to catch a few perch, with ‘few’ being the operative word.
There was a goldcrest feeding in a tree alongside the swim. It wasn’t close enough to identify with my natural eye, so I got the binoculars on that one. Kingfisher in flight, low over the pond, landing in overhanging trees on the far bank. Two sightings but the same bird.
