A fourteen degree air temperature swing and fishing a pond to start the day
What a difference a day makes. Yesterday morning it was minus-4 when I pulled off the drive at home to go fishing and, exactly twenty-four hours later, the air temperature has risen to ten degrees.
As I say in the video, no wonder the British people talk about the weather a lot. As far as location was concerned, this morning I decided to fish a pond. At least I knew it would be ice-free, although it’s always important to bear in mind that water temperature doesn’t move at the same rate as that of the air.
Hence, although I would have liked to bank perch after perch in the mild conditions, realism told me that even if I did catch my favourite species, it was most likely to be roach that provided the action. That proved to be the case with an all-silvers cast in today’s production.
