Black Friday by name, Black Friday by nature: Fishing the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal
It’s been a while since I last fished the Staffordshire & Worcestershire canal. Well, as someone who has fished every day this year so far, it certainly seems a long time. I did have a look at my blog to see when it was and, it’s not that long ago, it just seems like it.
Yesterday evening, taking the current conditions and the morning weather forecast into account – plus, of course, what I fancied doing – I decided to have a couple of hours first thing on the canal.
I went to sleep positive, I woke positive and I was positive when I cast out for the first time. I was positive right up to when I reeled in for the last tone.
However, as all anglers know, it takes more than just a healthy mindset to put fish on the bank. Even though I stayed beyond my two hours, I couldn’t even manage a flicker of life on the float. Black Friday by name, black Friday by nature.
