The final angling session of the autumn and it’s a frosty start on the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal
Not only is it the last day of November but it’s also the final one of the season, as we say farewell to autumn. With a hint of what’s to come during the next three months, the sub-zero conditions meant that I was scraping ice from the car windows before I could leave the drive this morning.
When you consider, that just twenty-four hours previously, it was heavy rain, it’s another example of how quickly the British weather turns. As far as life in general – and fishing in particular – is concerned though, you just carry on. Of course, it was always going to be a challenge on this session, but I went anyway.
You can follow the piscatorial activity via the video, although on this occasion I didn’t catch any perch. The blank was avoided though, with a few small roach on the bank. The session was about four hours and I thoroughly enjoyed it, which is always the most important box to tick.
