A change of angling plan, the importance of flexibility and another fine line fishing session

As far as the heading and the change of angling plan is concerned, all is explained in the video. It does highlight an importance principle to live by though, that of being flexible. Rigidity will always hold us back.

When confronted with unexpected ice on the car windows, I didn’t go back to bed, instead I changed my plan. Instead of perch fishing on the canal, I decided to head to a pool, where although I wouldn’t have said no to a stripey, realistically the target was roach.

Therefore, it was a pleasant surprise when the float moved, I struck and I banked a perch. With the water temperature falling in recent days, the number of the species that I’ve caught has decreased accordingly. The roach, however, have continued to oblige. Today, though, it was just the one stripey that saw the light of day.

I see a lot of kingfishers when out fishing but just one sighting on this session. A pair of calling ravens passed overhead. They’re a regular feature on this pool, you can actually guarantee seeing them. Putting the gear in the car, a noisy ring-necked parakeet flew into immediate woodland.
