🎣 A morning wrasse angling session on the Anglesey rocks and the rig I’ve been using this week 🏊 Pool fun with my granddaughter
🎣 With high tide at 11.27 a.m. there was no need to be up super early to do some fishing.
In fact, I had a lie-in and woke naturally, although it was still before 7.00 a.m. when I stirred.
Making a cup of tea, I got dressed, took the bait from the fridge and set off for the walk to the rocks.
The wind made fishing difficult, although I did have a few nibbles, but caught only one ballan wrasse.
As per the previous session, I was just on the right side of the line again.
In the video, I go through the rig. It’s very simple, and hopefully helpful to any coarse anglers who may be heading for a coastal holiday, at some point in the future.
Tackle: SeaTech Outlaw 12’ telescopic rod and Daiwa Jupiter Z 6000 reel, loaded with 20lb line. The float was 5” and the hooklength 2’. Size 2 Kamasan Aberdeen hook. Fresh lugworm.
Nature notes: Several terns (common or arctic). Walking back, saw an oystercatcher’s nest about ten yards away, with two eggs.
🏊 Once back at the bungalow, I had breakfast and then went to the indoor pool with my granddaughter.
It is just a few yards from where we are staying and if I say it’s a stone’s throw, that is quite literal.
The back wall of our place and the pool building are separated by just an internal road.
We had a great time and, as previously, we had the place to ourselves.
