🎣 Another fine line tench session 🗣️ Donald Trump v Cyril Ramaphosa ⚽️ Football’s coming home
🎣 A sucker for punishment or up for a challenge, it all depends on how you look at it. For me though, it’s definitely the latter.
What am I talking about? The tench lake that is proving extremely hard going at the moment, that’s what.
At the risk of repeating myself, once again as I made my way along the bank first thing in the morning, there wasn’t a single patch of tinca feeding bubbles.
Usually, especially at this time of the year, at dawn it’s like a witch’s cauldron.
Fishing at 25 metres with a grain of sweetcorn over brown crumb and corn, I had to wait three hours before I had a fish on. Within seconds I lost it.
I also foul-hooked a huge carp and ended up with a two-inch scale.
Another fine line session.
Indeed.
Tackle: Fox Barbel Special 1.5 test curve rod and an Okuma Zeon reel. 6lb Maxima Chameleon, with a six-inch hook-length created by a small shot and an 5mm bead. Above that was a 1/2 ounce bomb. Size 10 Drennan Super Specialist hook.
Nature notes: Several swifts feeding over the lake. Swallow passed through. Two great crested grebes. A pair of mallards with five well-developed young.
🗣️ I have been a keen follower of politics for many years and it was with much interest that I awaited the Donald Trump v Cyril Ramaphosa encounter in the White House.
I wasn’t disappointed and I share my thoughts in the video.
⚽️ Later in the evening, I watched Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League final.
I’ve worked in that competition myself this season but it seems that long ago.
Just from the financial point of view regarding next season, there was so much at stake. It really was a winner takes all encounter.
In the end, well done Spurs.
