🎣 Angling session four off the Trearddur Bay rocks 🎾 Dilwyn, the Bedlington terrier, meets Wilson, the ball
🎣 Following on from three evening sessions, I’m now switching to morning starts.
Not only does it work well with an incoming tide but it gives me the rest of the day free. It is a family holiday after all.
I walk to the rocks at Trearddur Bay, so no driving involved, plus they’re short sessions as well.
After three calm seas, the increase in wind speed meant fishing was difficult.
I had one small ballan wrasse and a missed bite, so just on the right side of the line.
Tackle: SeaTech Outlaw 12’ telescopic rod and Daiwa Jupiter Z 6000 reel, loaded with 20lb line. The float was 5” and the hooklength 2’. Size 2 Kamasan Aberdeen hook. Fresh lugworm.
Nature notes: Tern (common or arctic). Several small tortoiseshells in flight across the bay.
🎾 While out fishing, I noticed a yellow tennis ball brought in by the incoming tide.
It reminded me of a popular movie, that you may well be aware of yourself.
Therefore, I collected the ball, named it Wilson, then took it back to Dilwyn, my Bedlington terrier.
There’s footage from that – as well as the fishing trip – in the video.
