Making the most of no midweek game with another two angling sessions

It’s been a busy period work-wise with The New Saints since June, with pre-season fixtures, European games and now three competing in three cup competitions, as well as the league.

This week has been a rare one, where there has been no midweek fixture.

It’s therefore been no coincidence that I’ve also been doing more fishing than normal, although in reality it’s not as if the angling has exactly been neglected in recent months.

It’s just that I’ve been on the next level this week and that was the case today, with a couple of sessions on the bank.

I kicked off the day with another pond session, fishing in water that was less than two feet deep.

The temperature – both air and water – is good at present and I had no problem connecting with a few perch and mostly roach.

The fish were small, about the 2oz mark, with the biggest perch about 6oz and the largest roach a quarter of a pound.

It was my standard approach, float fishing a couple of white maggots on a size 14 hook and loose feeding mixed maggots.

  1. Stewart, you hit the nail right on the proverbial with “Godincidences”.
My wife and I are acutely aware of Godincidences throughout our 42 years together. He is why we live where we live.
