A pipistrelle in the garden || Three species from a small woodland pool || Finding our spiritual home

I was up at 5.45 a.m., and letting the dog in the garden, I noticed a pipistrelle that was feeding in the garden itself.

However, from going back inside to get my BatBox and returning, it had disappeared,

If it hadn’t, the video would have started with the bat sounds.

Instead, it kicks off at the water’s edge, where I had an hour or so on a small woodland pond.

It was extremely shallow (about a foot deep) and clear but I caught consistently.

I dropped the small waggler in the water just off the rod tip and fished two white maggots on a size 14 hook.

Mostly roach put in an appearance but also a perch and a rudd showed up.

Nature watch: Very vocal ring-necked parakeet in the immediate area briefly. Kingfisher.

After a shower and change, it was off to church.

We went to one of our local villages this morning, for the second Sunday on the bounce.

There’s been no rush, and we have been in a service regularly since our old church closed down, so that was important, but we’ve now decided on where to make our spiritual home.

  1. I managed £100 this month no complaints, i read that some of the £100,000 and £50,000 winners only had approximately £1,500 invested and that two winners only invested in July and won so they’ve been lucky.

    1. Nice one, Alan.
      They did well, didn’t they!
I guess that’s the way it goes, the way we are though is if we win what we do each month, we’re happy.
If a biggie did come along it would be a nice bonus but we don’t sit around in the meantime talking about what we’re going to do with non-existent winnings.
