I started the working week on the bank. A woodland pond bank, to be precise.
The tackle approach is in the video and that’s the beauty of having footage in a blog post rather than just text, as it definitely adds another dimension.
I caught perch and roach, nothing big but it was a small pond and I was fishing in just one foot of water.
As long as you’re realistic, these type of venues can be very rewarding.
I thoroughly enjoyed the session and that’s always the most important box to tick.
Nature watch: Kingfisher in flight. Grey heron trying to land but aware of my presence, so didn’t. A family group of vocal ring-necked parakeets.
Back home and it was time for my weekly Bayside Radio chats with Jeff Pearson.
We do the two together but they go out as fishing on Thursday afternoons and Welsh football a day later.
We had a couple of questions this week, one about the mackerel season and the other regarding float fishing for wrasse.
I enjoy doing them both very much and based on what I’ve been told, they’re well received by listeners.
I managed £100 this month no complaints, i read that some of the £100,000 and £50,000 winners only had approximately £1,500 invested and that two winners only invested in July and won so they’ve been lucky.
Nice one, Alan.
They did well, didn’t they!
I guess that’s the way it goes, the way we are though is if we win what we do each month, we’re happy.
If a biggie did come along it would be a nice bonus but we don’t sit around in the meantime talking about what we’re going to do with non-existent winnings.
