Beating global boiling with an early morning angling session

It’s very pleasant weather that we have at the moment and what we’ve always called an Indian summer.

I watched a weather forecast on television the other day and the country was coloured in the deepest red that you could possibly imagine.

Yet, when you looked at the figures, it’s mostly low to mid twenties, with a peak of high twenties.

Anyway, I was fishing and the early start is what you do regardless.

First thing in the morning, as well as dusk onwards, is a key time when the conditions are bright and sunny, especially on a small, shallow pond.

You can follow the session via the video, where I go through the tackle used as well as some of the fish caught.

I was fishing in water that was about one foot deep and banked three species, which is the maximum I would have expected.

Nothing big but all very enjoyable.

As I’ve stated on a number of occasions, as long as you’re realistic about what you catch then you can have pleasurable sessions wherever you fish.

Nature watch: Kingfisher in flight. Grey heron tried to land but didn’t when it saw me.

  1. I managed £100 this month no complaints, i read that some of the £100,000 and £50,000 winners only had approximately £1,500 invested and that two winners only invested in July and won so they’ve been lucky.

    1. Nice one, Alan.
      They did well, didn’t they!
I guess that’s the way it goes, the way we are though is if we win what we do each month, we’re happy.
If a biggie did come along it would be a nice bonus but we don’t sit around in the meantime talking about what we’re going to do with non-existent winnings.
