An unplanned Monday morning angling session on the Staffs & Worcs Canal, followed by my weekly fishing chat on Bayside Radio
As per the video, it wasn’t my intention to go fishing on Monday morning, but as I woke at just the right time for a first-light session, I went anyway. That’s the beauty of a rod that is ready to go and a rural location with minimal traffic on the road.
In no time at all, I was flicking a float into the clear water of the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal. The word ‘clear’ is what we can expect from now on until late spring, especially when it’s a morning session and the water has had several hours to settle.
In addition, frosts won’t help either, although on this occasion we were a few degrees above that. However, wrap up well and you can enjoy some very pleasant conditions, even in the depths of winter. I caught perch and roach then, once home I did my weekly fishing chat on Bayside Radio.
