In the pink as far as the kitchen is concerned, fishing the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal, exploring new venues and 22 years, 18 weeks today
Yesterday, we went pink in the kitchen at home. Well, not totally, just a kettle, toaster, spoon dish, two trays and a cutting board. It sounds a lot but, as you can see from the start of the video, they fit neatly and clutter-free on one of the worktops.
For a while, especially when I’ve been recording my kitchen (or ‘kitching’ as I inadvertently turned a noun into a verb in the video) clips, I’ve noticed that the kettle in particular was looking jaded. Therefore, when we were offered a brand new kettle and toaster, the answer was ‘Yes, please’.
The fact that it was pink was no problem. We do have some minor decorating plans in mind anyway, plus the acquisition of the accessories from Merry Hill shopping centre yesterday, sets off the area nicely. My wife put everything out last night and first impressions, when I entered the kitchen, is that I like it.
In the pink indeed and, not just the kitchen, but me on a personal level as well. I was up at 6.00 a.m. for a first-light start on the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal and, as is invariably the case, I was awake before the alarm.
The video covers the session, where I fished against an impressive autumn colour backdrop, and caught perch and roach in the process. With it being very mild at the moment, even though it was a murky day, it was still a beautiful one.
On the way back home, I took a detour to explore some potential new venues. The canal sections I looked at, I’ll definitely be on those in due course. The brooks were shallow but, invariably will have some deeper sections on the bends, so again I’ll be aiming to give those a go as well.
Today marks 22 years and 18 weeks of blogging. Time flies when you’re having fun because I can remember the very first post as if I was writing it now. Needless to say, I enjoy blogging. It’s always been a labour of love and never a burden.
