🎣 The final angling session of January, on the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal and It’s blog day
For the final piscatorial trip of the month, I visited the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal. It was my 6th visit to the canal this year but I was in a new spot (for 2026 anyway). I asked in the short (quite literally) video if anyone knows where it is.
At the time of writing I haven’t published it yet, but I’m sure that when you are reading this, there will be a correct answer. Revealing locations isn’t my default position – for obvious reasons – but every now and then, depending on where it is, I’m happy to do so.
I fished for three hours, presenting two maggots over loose maggots, with my standard float tackle approach. I didn’t have a single bite though, not even a tremble on the float. It was good to meet fellow angler, Bob, from Quinton though. He was lure fishing and was also fish-less as well.
It was definitely hard going but that’s angling for you. However, I can no longer say, it is January though, after all. Just change the month however, as it will be February tomorrow. Time flies.
Talking of which, as today is Saturday, it is ‘blog day’. It was 22 years and 30 weeks today that I posted my first entry on Stewart Bloor’s Angling Journal. The next landmark date will be 23 years. Before then, though, there’s plenty more angling to do.
