🎣 Back on the angling track and catching on a short morning session
Yesterday’s blank on the canal brought the run of thirteen sessions where I caught, to an end. Determined to not let that extend to two, I was on a pool first thing this morning.
Just a few small roach in over an hour but at least I caught. At the risk of repeating myself, it is still January and sometimes, at this time of the year, we have to be thankful for small mercies.
It was my usual float rod approach, the only difference compared to my last outing on the canal, was that I changed the length from the float to the hook. If things work, there’s no need to tinker too much.
The video footage contains signs of the fact that spring isn’t that far away. If you follow the meteorological dates – as opposed to the astronomical ones – then March 1 will be with us in just over four weeks.
Bring it on but, in the meantime, there’s plenty more fishing sessions to be had. Twenty-nine to be precise. Unless I do two in one day. That’s on the cards, especially now that the days are getting longer.
