🎣 Another pike on the bank in a short session
Even though I’m now retired and fishing every day, I’m finding that most of my sessions are still short ones.
That was the case with my latest pike outing, as I fished for just a couple of hours.
As we know though, as anglers, it’s all about quality of time and not just quantity.
I was really pleased to get four runs, although I had just the one fish on the bank.
Fishing with one treble hook inevitably means I won’t get as many as if I used the more traditional two hooks but a 25% hit rate is low and not the norm.
The three missed fish were on sardine sections, with the one on the bank falling to a roach live bait.
I took some basic tackle to see if I could catch a small fish and I did.
That’s the live bait rig in the image below. Plus the pike, of course.
