🎣 Fishing | Welcome to summer and the first angling session of the new season comes good right at the end
🚿DIY | Working on the shower at home
I follow the meteorological seasons, therefore, welcome to summer 2026. If you are an astronomical adherent, then you have to wait longer before you can celebrate the warmest season of the year.
However, after a dry spell to start the day, it’s been raining on and off ever since. In fact, it doesn’t particularly feel like summer, but it is.
I began the new month on what I’ve been calling my needle-in-a-haystack pool. The tench are exactly that, although the decent bream are a good second best if the tincas don’t show.
What was planned as a three hours session became four and then five. The reason being that I stayed until I caught, which I did on my last cast. It was a tench as well. Brilliant.
Once home, I went to work on the en-suite shower in our bedroom. After discovering a wet patch on our living room ceiling, it was obvious that the problem was in the shower area, which was directly above the stained section.
Hoping it was the sealant, and not a pipe issue beneath the floorboards, my wife took the project on. She’s really good at DIY. Unfortunately, she did something to her back and needs to take a break..
Therefore, I stepped up to the mark. It was just a simple sealant job at this stage, as Debby has done a lot so far. Tomorrow, I’ll take a shower, and we’ll find out if the sealing and grouting has worked. Visit the home page.
