🎣 The penultimate angling session of the spring, on the needle-in-a-haystack pool ⚽️ So close and yet so far for Arsenal

It was back to early morning starts today, as I visited a pool at first light. It’s the one that I’ve been calling the needle-in-a-haystack venture.

With good reason as well, as the tench population is very thin on the ground.

I didn’t get one in the three hours that I was there on this session either. However, as per several other sessions in recent weeks, bream came to the rescue.

In this instance, just the one fish, but it was a decent one, so I wasn’t exactly disappointed at the lack of tinca action.

At the opposite end of the day, I watched Arsenal play Paris Saint-Germain on television. It was the UEFA Champions League final and I was rooting for the Gunners.

Going all the way to penalties, Arsenal lost 4-3. I felt the loss and I can only imagine how their fans will be feeling for a day or so.

Yes, football has the ability to do that, even to grown men. It can take you to highs and it can plunge you to depths. Totally irrational, I know, but that’s the beautiful game for you. Visit the home page.
