🎥 Movie review: Malta Story (1953) starring Alec Guinness, Jack Hawkins and Anthony Steel
Released in 1953 (and a year later in USA), Malta Story is a black and white film, starring Alec Guinness, Jack Hawkins, Anthony Steel, Muriel Pavlow and Flora Robson.
It began as an initiative by the British government at the time, who wanted to portray the unity of the armed forces during the war, and thought the siege of Malta would be an ideal backdrop.
It includes both specific movie filming at Pinewood and Malta, as well as actual footage from World War II. It combines a thread of both a military story and personal lives.
I won’t say how it ends, in case you want to watch it yourself, but it is a good movie. I watched it on TPTV Encore but it is also on YouTube.
