‘Don’t buy me anything expensive’
With my wife joining my eldest daughter at Merry Hill (a huge mall near Dudley) for some school uniform shopping, I took her there in the car before doing some scanning the plastic of my own.
With an imminent birthday on the horizon – my wife’s – she quickly worked out why I wanted to give her a lift and then go my own way.
I’m a typical traditional man when it comes to buying gifts.
She knows that perfume is always the easy option for me and when we parted, her final words were, ‘Don’t buy me anything expensive’.
