Too Busy Thinking About My Baby and the musical generations

I’ve had another one of those tracks playing in the car that keeps getting the repeat treatment.

Marvin Gaye’s classic, Too Busy Thinking About My Baby.

It’s another one from my early teenage years.

When I was chatting off-camera with The New Saints’ latest recruit, Benny Couto, yesterday, we discussed personal musical tastes.

There’s more than forty years between us and he wasn’t familiar with my music at all, although he had heard of Marvin Gaye.

He likes Alicia Keys and when I asked my granddaughter, who is less than ten years behind Benny, whether she had heard of her, she hadn’t.

Musical generations.
