🎣 The first carp session of the autumn and it’s not a runs water, that’s a fact
Although I only had one tench on the bank and a carp hook-pull, nevertheless I enjoyed my recent sessions on a lake in pursuit of the latter species.
In my defence, it’s not what you call a runs water and, although there are some good fish in there, they’re not queuing up to be caught. That’s usually the case as far as angling is concerned anyway, when it comes to quality versus quantity.
On this occasion, I was on the bank just after first light and, with rain falling, mist over the lake and a chilly tinge to the air, it definitely had the feel of autumn written all over it.
I fished with three rods on this occasion and presented 14mm M1 (SBS Baits) bottom boilies over a clean bed in the deeper part of the lake. Each bait was embedded in a PVA bag of pellets and boilies and cast about 50 yards or so from the bank.
I included my crocs in the video, which is five hours condensed into eleven seconds.
I felt like a proper carp angler wearing those. Without the carp though.
I watched a great crested grebe, as it struggled to swallow a perch. I thought to myself, it’s not going to gorge the fish, it’s too big. However, after quite some time, it disappeared down its throat.
