📺 Timeless: Season Two (2018) starring Goran Višnjić, Abigail Spencer, Matt Lanter and Rufus Carlin
Garcia Flynn (played by Goran Višnjić) is a security agent who goes rogue, captures a time travel machine and attempts to change history.
Lucy Preston (played by Abigail Spencer), Wyatt Logan (played by Matt Lanter) and Rufus Carlin (Malcolm Barrett) comprise the team who travel time to thwart Flynn’s plans.
Episode 1: The War To End All Wars
Lucy is going along with her mom, as she pretends to warm to Rittenhouse, and, together with a female pilot, the three of them travel to the World War I frontline in Europe.
Tracking them is Wyatt and Rufus and, after twists and turns, Lucy returns with them to the present.
We’re beginning to see just how dangerous and controlling Rittenhouse is. An elite organisation that seeks to manipulate world events for its own benefit.
Episode 2: The Darlington 500
The team travels to 1955, where they are in direct contact with the Rittenhouse trio, including Lucy’s mom.
The latter plans to kill key automobile personnel, so that they can muscle in and control the industry.
The team joins forces with Wendell Scott, a famous stock car racer, who helps them.
Back in the present, Rittenhouse’s Keynes reveals his plans for the future of humanity, where the strong live and the weak don’t.
Flynn is now in jail in the present.
Episode 3: Hollywoodland
It’s back to 1941 Hollywood as the team infiltrates a studio complex.
A Rittenhouse sleeper agent steals the only copy of Citizen Kane and offers it to William Randolph Hearst in exchange for a weekly propaganda column in his newspapers.
Wyatt kills the sleeper and the plan is foiled.
They hook up with Hedy Lamarr in the episode and Rufus gives her advice on copyright, which, once back in the present they find out it made her extremely wealthy indeed.
After much speculation, Wyatt and Lucy finally become an item, only for the former to discover that his wife is alive.
Episode 4: The Salem Witch Hunt
Wyatt goes missing as he searches for reconciliation with his wife, Jess.
Flynn is rescued from prison and he joins Lucy and Rufus, as they head for 1692 and the Salem witch trials.
They realise that their mission is to save the young girl who goes on to become the mother of Benjamin Franklin.
No Franklin, no free speech is Rittenhouse’s thinking.
Lucy is accused – by a Rittenhouse time traveller – of being a witch and joins the women waiting to be hung.
The team are successful and the women are rescued and they escape.
Meanwhile, Wyatt takes Jess to the secret bunker where the team are hiding in the present, in order to prove why he’s been missing for months so that he can save his marriage.
Episode 5: The Kennedy Curse
Back in 1934, a young JF Kennedy is rescued from a Rittenhouse assassination attempt and brought back to 2018.
He escapes from the bunker and eventually is located and taken back to the thirties.
He strikes up a friendship with a young girl, who initially – and understandably – doesn’t believe his story.
Eventually though, she sees the truth for herself. It’s a nice side-story.
Episode 6: The King Of The Delta Blues
The Rittenhouse agents are in Texas and it’s 1936, with a mission to make sure Robert Johnson records his first records.
If he doesn’t, there is no blues, no rock and roll and no sixties counter culture, meaning Rittenhouse has a tighter grip on the world.
Again, Rittenhouse sleeper agents are activated, and although they kill Don Law who is Johnson’s producer, Connor Mason (who is time travelling for the first time) steps in.
He’s a massive fan of Robert Johnson and there’s a lovely twist because as they record, in his excitement he shouts out ‘yeah’ before he realises he needs to be quiet.
Back in 2018, he digs out an old Robert Johnson vinyl album and, as he plays it, he hears himself from 1936.
Meanwhile, spurned by Wyatt Logan, Lucy finds comfort with Flynn, who is now very much part of the team himself.
Episode 7: Mrs. Sherlock Holmes
The team find themselves in 1919 and embroiled in the suffragette movement.
Alice Paul is killed and the female detective, Grace Humiston (known as Mrs. Sherlock Holmes), helps them and, in the process, joins their cause.
Emma, the Rittenhouse operative, joins them for this mission only, because she has a vested interest in women’s rights and she kills the sleeper agent.
Back in the present, Mason and Christopher discover that Wyatt’s wife, Jessica, appears to be involved with Rittenhouse herself.
Episode 8: The Day Reagan Was Shot
Going back to 1981, on the day that Ronald Reagan was shot, they initially think it’s their job to save the president from a Rittenhouse sleeper.
However, they soon realise that their task is to rescue a young police officer, later to become Agent Christopher.
They succeed, but with all the interventions that have been going on, the present (2018) is becoming very confusing.
As I arrived, mixed my brown crumb and corn and then cast out, I thought to myself that I do enjoy a challenge. Or make it difficult for myself. Take your pick.
The episode ends with Jess telling Wyatt she is pregnant.
Episode 9: The General
The action this time focuses on 1863 and the American Civil War. The Rittenhouse sleeper is a colonel who is visited by Emma, given a book on the war and told what to do.
The team join forces with Harriet Tubman and it’s actually her that kills the sleeper.
In the end, the union forces win the battle and it proves to be a massive turning point in the war.
Back home, Jess takes Jiya hostage and disappears in the time machine.
Episode 10: Chinatown
In the final episode (barring two finales), it’s 1888 San Francisco and with Nicolas and Carol killed, Emma takes over Rittenhouse.
The team are there to rescue Jiya, who leaves messages via history books, to reveal her location.
They all return home except Rufus, who is killed. Then, another time machine appears and a future Wyatt and Lucy get out, as they challenge everyone to join them in bringing Rufus back before he is murdered.
Finale: The Miracle Of Christmas (part 1)
Things are becoming more complicated as we draw close to a conclusion.
Flynn kills Jessica, then Rufus appears because history has been changed.
Flynn then sacrifices his own life for the common good.
They go to 1848 California and end up in 1950 Korea, where Christopher and Mason read a headline that four Americans were killed.
Finale: The Miracle Of Christmas (part 2)
Before they leave Korea, as Christopher rescues them from the Chinese communists, Emma is killed.
Once back, the mother ship is destroyed and the lifeboat is put under armed guard just in case it is ever needed in the future.
They all live happily ever after.
The final mission is where Lucy goes to Brazil to give her journal to Flynn. That ensures that everything stays on track.
