🏡 Gardening home and away 👍 The importance of encouragement
🏡 I’ve been enjoying gardening at home since we moved to our bungalow four and a half years ago.
In fact, it’s now another one of my several hobbies, and I love pottering around.
Every day I do something that’s garden-related, even if it’s just skimming the pond, watering the plants in hot weather or picking up leaves.
Today, I did all of those things, plus I cemented the washing line pole in the ground.
Before gardening at home though, I did some gardening away.
My new-found horticultural passion is in demand and I’m doing a few gardens for other people.
It’s the ‘retired job’ that I was looking for and it’s landed in my lap.
I’m loving it and I’m getting lots of positive feedback.
👍 I was thinking about this just today, after a spell in a local garden.
I don’t need praise but I do appreciate it. It’s actually healthy and inspirational.
How many people have been at their place of employment for years and they’ve never had one encouraging word from their boss?
It’s not about tickling your ears, but just letting you know that you’re appreciated, which is actually good for the employer because happy hens lay the best eggs.
