August 1
Great to see lots of juvenile birds around the feeding station: dunnock, great tit, house sparrow and robin.
Single swift in flight late evening.
August 2
Eight juvenile long-tailed tits on the feeding station.
Three juvenile wrens in the garden.
Eleven adults and juveniles house sparrows.
August 3
Juvenile goldfinch on the feeding station.
August 7
Hedgehog in the back garden, feeding on the lawn. It was much smaller than the usual one so great to see.
August 8
Stock doves (2,1) in the garden.
August 9
Young hedgehog under the feeding station and another (not seen but heard) in the shrubbery alongside.

Noctule in flight (west to east) across Straits estate late dusk.

Nuthatch on the feeding station.
The flock of house sparrows is now in permanent residence.
Two juvenile blackbirds in the garden.

Juvenile greenfinch on the feeding station.

Highest count (12) of house sparrows in the garden. Probably more, they’re very lively and elusive at times.

Two nuthatch sightings on the feeding station.

Nuthatch visiting the garden again.
Hedgehog showing really well from 7.30 p.m.
A second hedgehog (smaller) on the lawn at 9.15 p.m.
Third hedgehog (another young one) on the lawn at 10.20 p.m.
August 24
House sparrows (14) in the garden. Most seen at one time.
August 26
Long-tailed tits (11) on the feeding station.
August 27
The 50th bird of the year for the garden, with 10 house martins in migration flight.
August 28
A new species (ever) for the garden, as a garden warbler made its way through.
