🎣 Fishing Rhyl harbour and the baits were devoured within seconds of casting out
After a busy – but blessed – day, I wrapped it up with some fishing. To be precise, my first sea angling trip of the year. Living, as I do, so far from the coast, I don’t have the luxury of being able to pop out for a couple of hours when I fancy it.
With a late high tide (11.43 p.m.), I decided to fish Rhyl harbour. It was a calm and very pleasant evening, with the air temperature dropping to 5C once we hit the early hours.
I fished a pair of rods with two hooks on each, baiting with fresh lugworm. As soon as the lead hit the bottom, the baits were attacked. However, not by fish, but crabs.
The bottom line was that the fish didn’t even stand a chance, the bait wasn’t in the water long enough to catch anything. As crabs don’t count, therefore I blanked.
