Billed as ‘A brain-chilling tale of tomorrow happens in our world today’, The Day Of The Triffids was released in 1963.

It is based on a 1951 novel of the same name by John Wyndham. It was fraught with financial problems but eventually made it through.

It stars Howard Keel as Bill Masen, Nicole Maurey as Christine Duran, Janina Faye as Susan, Janette Scott as Karen Goodwin and Kieron Moore as Tom Goodwin.

A meteor shower causes anyone who looks at it to become blind, as well as the triffid plant to grow and turn mobile, as it seeks to attack all living creatures.

A good movie, I saw it on TPTV. I won’t spoil it for anyone who does decide to watch it, so view it yourself to see how it progresses and ends.
