🌳 Our stick insects are multiplying very quickly at the moment
We’ve had stick insects for about a year now and have enjoyed watching six tiny creatures grow into adults, courtesy of several skin sheddings along the way.
They are Mediterranean stick insects and were originally from the Scilly Isles, brought back by a professional naturalist that I know.
They’re easy to look after, although not only are the adults quite mobile when the lid of their tank is opened, but we now have to watch out for the newly-hatched young as well.
