Premium bonds draw, canal fishing at first light and Bayside Radio recordings
The premium bonds gods weren’t kind to us this month, as you can see from the video.
Still, I’ve got enough for twenty pints of maggots, so it’s not the end of the world.
Talking of which, maggots that is and not an apocalypse, I was out at first light, fishing two reds in the boat channel on the Staffs/Worcs Canal.
My target was perch and that’s the first fish that I had on the bank.
By the end of the session, I had lost count of the perch caught. All small ones but great fun.
Tackle: Greys Prodigy TX 12’ rod. Shimano 3500M reel. Maxima Chameleon 4lb line. Drennan 0.6g waggler. Drennan Super Specialist size 14 hook.
Nature notes: Female mallard on nest, in undergrowth on the far bank. Three separate raven sightings, all calling in flight.
Once home, it was time for my weekly Bayside Radio chats where we record an angling slot, followed by Welsh football conversation.
There are a couple of clips from the fishing one in the accompanying video.
£75 same as last month for me my brother did better with £200 this month but it’s his first win in along time . Any amount is a bonus and been lucky the last 12 months to win something good luck for next month .
You did better than me, but then again we have had some decent wins recently.
I’ll just have to postpone my full retirement until May at the earliest now!
