An early angling session on the Staffs/Worcs Canal and the garden looks pretty
I’m enjoying my sessions on the Staffordshire/Worcestershire Canal very much indeed, and that’s where I was this morning, for a couple of hours or so.
My friend from primary school days, Ian Clarke, was already there and had caught five fish in the short time he was fishing.
It certainly slowed down once I arrived, but we both caught, with chub and perch on the bank.
I went for my usual boat channel approach, fishing two white maggots over brown crumb and loose white maggots.
Tackle: Greys Prodigy TX 12’ rod. Shimano 3500M reel. Maxima Chameleon 4lb line. Drennan 0.6g waggler. Drennan Super Specialist size 14 hook.
Nature notes: Blackcap singing in hedgerow alongside the canal.
Once home, with the sun out and a beautiful day on the way, I thought how pretty the rockery at the top of the front garden looked.
When we moved in there was a dense row of conifers there.
After they were removed, I positioned a low border wall, put rocks in place and planted shrubs and flowers.
It looks very well established now and you wouldn’t necessarily think it’s just three years old.
£75 same as last month for me my brother did better with £200 this month but it’s his first win in along time . Any amount is a bonus and been lucky the last 12 months to win something good luck for next month .
You did better than me, but then again we have had some decent wins recently.
I’ll just have to postpone my full retirement until May at the earliest now!
