A couple of angling sessions at Rhyl harbour
My angling plans for the holiday involved doing the first three days at Rhyl harbour.
With high tide being very late in the evening, it fitted in well, meaning the days were free.
It meant getting back to the caravan well into the early hours of the morning but, with the body clock I’ve developed over the years, that was no problem.
I was joined again by Jeff Pearson, as he caught his first fish in well over a year on the first outing in this blog post, while I blanked.
The following night, no rockling put in an appearance but the whiting did.
They showed for a while just as the tide was turning and I caught five in that spell.
Tackle: 12ft Okuma Salina rods, Jarvis Walker Mirage 7000 reels. 20lb line, two-hook rigs and 4 ounce leads. Size 2/4 Aberdeen hooks.
