Pond, prawn, perch

Footage of the perch.

I’ve had a few sessions pursuing perch with prawn recently but to no avail.

Therefore, it was nice this time round to actually get one in the net and on the bank.

I fished over loose prawns in three feet of water on a small pond and it was great to get the take, strike, play and eventually get my hand on the fish itself.

You can see the perch in the short video and the approach that I used is in a recent blog post that you can check out here.

  1. Hi Stewert, thoroughly enjoying your blogs and the accompanying videos. Your simplicity and how you plan and make the most of your time is great. Love all the content and it’s nice that is incudes wildlife and sermons wildlife etc. A couple of questions I may, do you use mono or braid pain line for pike fishing and if float fishing in deeper water would you use a larger float. Thanks

    1. Thanks, Matt. Nice one.
I go for mono, I’m usually fishing quite close to the bank so no real advantage in braid.
Yes, the float has to do the job, I think you’ll get the feel whether you need to increase in size or not.
